Bishops Commission for Liturgy

Based on the Church’s liturgical norms, these guidelines encourage reverent reception of Communion, providing guidance for both ministers of communion and communicants.

These guidelines provide practical advice for liturgical ministers in circumstances where (a) member(s) of the community cannot tolerate the usual high-gluten hosts or bread used at Mass.

This document communicates a change in the English translation of the conclusions to the Collects of the Missal required by the Congregation for Divine Worship. “One God” is replaced with “God,” so as to reflect the Latin original’s emphasis on “the Son’s unique identity within the Trinity.”

Here the liturgy Commission gives thanks for the blessing of the reform of the liturgy since the promulgation of the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Liturgy Sacrosanctum Concilium in 1963. The document synthesises the fundamental principles of the liturgy Constitution, noting that the reform and renewal of the liturgy is an ongoing task yet to be completed.
